Jan 18, 2008 · I ran over a blowout not long ago with my 4 wheeler trailer that busted my running light. In the process of fixing the light, I shorted the circuit. Everything would work except my left turn signal. The left turn signal was not getting current at the plug on my truck bumper, but the left turn signal was working on my truck and I had no blown fuses. Aug 16, 2012 · Now the truck turn signals and flashers do not work at all. I checked the fuses for both truck and trailer connections and their is no power to the fuse, all fuses are good. The electric brakes and running lights are working on the trailer but no flashers on truck or trailer. replaced flasher relay on back of fuse box. still no flashers A: When you add trailer lights to a vehicle system, the turn signal amp load basically doubles. Most vehicles have a flasher that controls the blink of a turn signal. The standard flasher provided in many vehicles will not handle this extra load. Because most boat trailer lights are submerged when launching and loading the boat, lighting system malfunction can be expected at some point in time. Water, especially brackish and salt water, is very corrosive to the metals in light assemblies. Keeping water out of a light assembly means maximizing the trailer lights usefulness. Brake lights and turn signal are usually the same bulb. If you only have one bulb each side for these I would first check the bulb in the side that isn't working. If you have TWO bulbs per side, chances are they didn't both fail together so it's time to start checking fuses. May 04, 2016 · We left for a camping trip and noticed that we had no brake lights or turn signals. Running lights and back up lights were working fine. Read my Borrego (tow vehicle) owner's manual and discovered the trailer brake lights and turn signals operate off the same fuse. Checked the fuse (15 amp small blade fuse). It was blown. I had a spare.

The first thing you may notice when you plug in the trailer lights is that the turn signals on the car may not blink at the same rate. This is because the turn signal flasher unit is load sensitive, designed to work with the electrical load of exactly two bright incandescent bulbs connected to it (2 x 21 watts = 42 watts electrical load).
Nov 08, 2011 · Assuming your using a 12v test light, make sure it's working correctly, just for kicks. There will be a 15A fuse in that circuit, spin or twist all fuses in place to insure conductivity, one at a time and test, that way you'll identify the culprit. Keep at it,
You should still get trailer turn and brake signals when you have the headlights on in the tow vehicle. I'm thinking you might have a weak ground on the main harness. Check to make sure the ground wires on both the tow vehicle and camper are still securely attached to clean, bare metal surfaces.
Nov 29, 2016 · We are on our first trip with our 2016 Bighorn 3570RS. After hooking the 7-pin connector to the truck, the brake lights and turn signal lights work fine. Additional comment: The MGA 1500 circuitry has the turn signals sharing the rear bulbs with the brake lights, so if the turn signals are not working you may also not have a brake light on that side of the car. While the signal is switched on the rear bulb is disconnected from the brake light circuit, so it would just go dark and remain dark (as ...
Turn signals would work in both instances without lights but not with. 4 ways would work half the time with lights. I see some trouble shooting in your future. If you always pull the same trailer, pull the pigtail to eliminate the trailer being part of the problem.

Wire 810 (red/blk tracer) has power at the turn signal plug when I press the brake pedal. I can't see anything else that can be wrong other than a bad turn signal switch. I've checked the wiring several times. I don't know how the turn signal switch works but it's not passing power from wire 810 to 283 & 284.
Just had a car in the shop hazards and turn signals inop. Hazard switch fixed the hazard problem but turn signal indicators stayed on all the time and both flashed when actuating turn signals. Found corrosion in ground eyelet #101 right behind drivers side headlight. Crimped on new eyelet and its fixed:clap:

Dec 22, 2018 · The good news is that all of these symptoms point to two possible issues, a bad turn signal relay or a dead bulb. If the signal blinks really fast, you have a bulb out on that side. If it doesn't come on at all or doesn't blink, you'll need to replace your turn signal relay. Your turn signal relay is as easy to replace as a headlight, and they are almost never expensive.

Usually the best way to troubleshoot your wiring issue is to disconnect the trailer from the truck's 4-pole and test each one individually. However, based on your description of the problem - all trailer lights working until you turn on the vehicle headlights - there is one most-likely cause that should be easy to correct.
Oct 19, 2007 · Turn signal indicator with trailer attached. Turn signal indicator no trailer attached. When I switch the programming to 1 on the 2006 Touareg V10, then I get a warning message on the break lights for the trailer not working and in fact, the break lights do not come on any more.
This is why a bad turn signal switch will not affect it. Third brake-light out but lower lights work. If only the third light is out and the lowers still work, see if it will flash with the emergency-flashers. If the inoperative third light flashes, with the emergency flashers, a fuse is the most likely cause. If it does not operate with the flashers, bad bulbs or sockets in the third-light are likely. Many modern third-brake lights use an LED and do not have bulbs that can be replaced.
The most likely cause for the turn signals not to work when the running lights are on with your trailer is a bad or weak ground. It's very possible that a weak ground connection can be just strong enough to allow sufficient current for some lights to pass, but not enough for everything.
I had the OEM halogen driving lights and turn signals swapped out by the dealer yesterday - after two return trips to the dealer - the lights are finally working, BUT can the dealer do a code to get the dash message for "turn signal lights are out" to not come up every time you turn on the jeep? Please advise.

Oh, yeah, I forgot - the scooter and associated electronics on board, are all 24v as well, so the trailer lights will be 24v (not a problem as the LED's are rated 10-30v), and I have already worked out the polarity issue with the LED's, so I know which one is connected to the frame (Black, in this case) and the (white) lead connects to the ...
In the affected vehicles, when the vehicle's engine is running and the brake lights are illuminated, if the turn signal is activated, the trailer turn signal lights will either turn off or remain...
Traffic signal preemption (also called traffic signal prioritization) is a type of system that allows the normal operation of traffic lights to be preempted. The most common use of these systems is to manipulate traffic signals in the path of an emergency vehicle, halting conflicting traffic and allowing the emergency vehicle right-of-way, to help reduce response times and enhance traffic safety.
When your hazard lights don't illuminate but the turn signals work, usually you are dealing with a faulty hazard-lights flasher. However, if the flasher unit is working fine, check the fuse. Also, check for a bad connection at the turn signal switch or an open in the part of the circuit that connects the flasher unit to the turn signal switch.
